Annoucements/RemindersWeekly updates, FPA calendar, Policies & procedures
Can you feel it? It's the last 2 weeks of the school year! Let's please work together in Building 3 to keep instruction going through the very last day! I'll add a friendly reminder that parties and movies are not considered instruction...Also, please make every effort to step into the hallway during passing periods and help move students to class. We're not the only ones ready for a long vacation, and for the safety and sanity of all students, faculty, and staff, we need to send the message together that no one gets to go on vacation until June 7!
Here's some important dates and events through June 10: Professional Development will take place on Tuesday, 5/28, and Tuesday, 6/4, at 1:55 P.M. in the FPA Collaboration Room. We will spend our time on year-end review and reflection, recognitions, and discuss the transition into next year. Commencement for the Social Justice Schools will take place on Thursday, June 6, at 5:30 P.M. in the MPR. All senior Mentoring teachers should plan to attend, and of course everyone else is cordially invited to congratulate our first graduating class! The final meeting of the Graduation Committee will be held this Thursday, 5/30, at 3:30 P.M. in the Parent Center. The Shared-decision Making Council will also hold its final meeting of the year on Thursday, 5/30, at 4:3o P.M. in the Parent Center. The agenda includes discussion of and decisions around the calendar, discipline policy, and professional development plan for the 2013-2014 school year. Final exams should take place the week of 6/3 and not before. Please adhere to the following schedule: Monday, 6/3: Periods 1 & 5 Tuesday, 6/4: Periods 2 & 6 Wednesday, 6/5: Periods 4 & 8 Thursday, 6/6: Periods 3 & 7 During the week of 6/3, we will have a regular bell schedule, including our PD schedule on Tuesday. Thursday, 6/6, and Friday, 6/7, are scheduled as Minimum Days. Please plan accordingly. The 20 week grading window has opened and will close on 6/6. Verification rosters and rollbooks are due on 6/7 by 3:30 P.M. Remember that in order for a student to receive an F as a final grade for the course, he or she must have received an F at the end of the previous grading period or a D with the comment 'In Danger of Failing." The closing procedures memo and checklist will be distributed this week. Please be forewarned that I will be meticulous this year about having everything checked off, signed off, packed up, cleaned out, etc. Please don't hesitate with any questions! Our final day together will be on 6/10, our Pupil Free Day. Agenda for that day will be forthcoming. Please let me know in advance if you do not plan to be present. Thank you in advance for your continued diligence and dedication during the last 10 days!! |
